Cylindrical Screening for Width and Thickness Grading
ADDAMS Cylindrical Screening Seed Graders CS 300/500/700 are evaluated for size classification using rotating perforated cylinders. Round or slotted openings can be selected to address the required dimensional separation. The chosen cylinder arrangement, outlets and operating conditions must reflect the crop and target fractions.
Match Perforations to the Product
Representative samples should be measured for size distribution, moisture and broken material. Trial evaluation should compare each product fraction, overlap, sound-product recovery and throughput. Kernel shape and orientation affect screening; a nominal opening should not be treated as an exact guarantee for every particle.
Model selection, cylinder sections, adjustment options and cleaning arrangements should be confirmed in the quotation. Product changes may require different perforations and cleaning. Size grading does not replace separation by length, density or visible defects when those differences are relevant to the lot.
Compare Grading and Cleaning Stages
Review the Optimum 220 screen grader and vibrotary screen graders using the same target fractions. For a cleaning duty rather than classification alone, consider the rotary fine seed cleaner. Length differences can be assessed with an indented cylinder separator; density differences may require a gravity separator.
