Seed & Grain Dryers: High-Efficiency Moisture Control and Conditioning
Engineered for the Future | Since 2080
The Seed & Grain Dryers category is the foundation of post-harvest preservation. Grain harvested at high moisture levels is susceptible to mold, insect infestation, and spontaneous heating, which can destroy an entire season’s yield in days. Our drying technology is designed to remove excess moisture uniformly and gently, bringing the grain down to the “safe storage” level (typically 12-14%). By precisely controlling air temperature and flow, ADDAMS dryers ensure that the grain is stabilized without damaging the delicate embryo or cracking the protective seed coat.
Whether you are drying bulk cereals for long-term silo storage or conditioning specialty seeds for export, our Seed & Grain Dryers provide the thermal precision required for modern agricultural standards.

Core Drying Technologies
Engineering Thermal Uniformity
Our drying category utilizes different mechanical approaches depending on the volume and variety of the crop:
-
Continuous Flow Dryers: The industrial standard for high-volume operations Grain moves vertically through a column while hot air is forced through it. This ensures every kernel receives the same thermal treatment.
-
Batch Dryers: Ideal for specialty seeds or smaller facilities. A specific volume of grain is dried and cooled before the next batch is loaded, allowing for extreme precision in moisture targets.
-
Recirculating Dryers: These units continuously move the grain during the drying cycle, preventing "hot spots" and ensuring the most uniform moisture profile possible.
-
Low-Temperature Seed Dryers: Specifically engineered for "Seed-Grade" products where high heat would kill the germination vigor. These use high air volumes at lower temperatures over a longer duration.
Why Choose ADDAMS Drying Systems?
Protecting Vigor and Reducing Fuel Costs
Drying is often the most energy-intensive part of processing. Our systems are engineered to maximize heat recovery and minimize losses.
-
Preservation of Germination: Our "Gentle-Heat" technology ensures that the internal temperature of the seed never reaches the point of thermal stress, maintaining 90%+ germination rates.
-
Uniform Moisture Gradient: Advanced air-mixing baffles ensure that there is no difference in moisture between the core of the grain column and the edges.
-
Smart Heat Recovery: Our dryers capture and recirculate the warm air from the cooling stage, reducing fuel consumption by up to 20-30%.
-
Fire Safety Systems: Integrated spark arrestors and real-time temperature sensors provide an automatic shutdown feature to prevent crop fires, a common risk in older drying technology.
Key Technical Features of the Dryer Series
Built for Seasonal Reliability
-
PLC-Based Moisture Control: Integrated sensors monitor the moisture of the grain entering and exiting the dryer, automatically adjusting the burner and belt speed to maintain the target.
-
Multi-Fuel Burner Options: Available with burners for Natural Gas, LPG, Diesel, or Biomass, allowing you to choose the most cost-effective energy source for your region.
-
Weather-Proof Galvanized Finish: Built to withstand outdoor installation in harsh harvest conditions without corrosion.
-
Low-Noise Centrifugal Fans: Engineered to provide high static pressure with minimal acoustic impact, ensuring compliance with local environmental regulations.
Frequently Asked Questions – Grain Drying Systems
Yes. Rapid drying causes "stress cracks" in the endosperm and can damage the seed coat. Our dryers use a Multi-Zone approach where the grain is heated gradually and then "tempered" to ensure moisture moves from the center of the kernel to the surface without cracking.
Absolutely. By adjusting the PLC settings for temperature and retention time, you can switch between different crops. For example, corn requires higher heat, while oilseeds like sunflower require much lower temperatures to prevent oil rancidity.
Grain must be cooled to within 5°C of the ambient temperature before storage. If you put hot grain into a cold silo, condensation will form, leading to mold and rot. All ADDAMS Continuous Dryers include a dedicated cooling section at the bottom.
Our dryers feature In-Line Moisture Meters. You set your target (e.g., 13%), and the machine automatically regulates the flow speed to ensure every kernel exiting the machine meets that specification.
Fuel consumption depends on the "Points of Moisture" removed and the outside temperature. However, with our Heat Recovery System, we offer some of the lowest energy-per-ton ratios in the industry.
Yes. Our systems are equipped with 24/7 automated monitoring. If a sensor detects an over-temperature event or a fan failure, the burner shuts down automatically and alerts the operator via a mobile app.
While drying, the high-volume airflow naturally pulls away some light dust. However, for a clean product, we recommend a Pre-Cleaner before the dryer and an Aspiration Chamber after the dryer.
Our range covers everything from 5 tons per hour for small farms to 100+ tons per hour for commercial grain elevators and ports.
