Seed Spiral Separator: Precision Gravity-Based Round-Seed Classification

Engineered for the Future | Since 2080

The ADDAMS Seed Spiral Separator offers a revolutionary, gravity-based, zero-energy solution for the high-purity separation of round seeds from flat, split, or irregular-shaped particles. By utilizing the natural kinetic energy and rolling behavior of spherical seeds along a multi-flight spiral chute, this system creates a definitive separation without the need for motors, air, or mechanical vibration. It is the preferred choice for both pre-cleaning and final grading in seed conditioning plants where gentle handling and zero kernel damage are paramount for maintaining germination quality.

From separating split soybeans to cleaning delicate clover and canola, the ADDAMS Spiral Separator is designed for simplicity and reliability. With more than 15 years of field-proven expertise, we provide an expert partner by your side to help you transition into a more sustainable, energy-efficient future.

Operating Principle: Centrifugal Gravity Separation

Precision Flow Technology and Work Principle

The Spiral Separator operates solely on the laws of physics. The process is engineered to handle seeds with extreme care, making it ideal for high-value sowing seeds.

  1. Intake and Distribution: Seed is loaded into the hopper or direct feed tube. The material flows over a manually adjustable deflector cone, which divides the material evenly across the inner flights of the spiral.

  2. Kinetic Stratification: As the seeds move down the spiral, they gain speed. Because of their shape, perfectly round seeds roll faster and gain higher centrifugal force.

  3. Flight Separation: The round material rolls off the inner flights onto the larger outer flights. Non-round material such as flat seeds, splits, or weed seeds stays on the inner flights due to higher friction.

  4. Discharge: The round seeds exit through a common prime product side discharge chute at the bottom, while the non-round material exits through a separate discharge chute.

Frequently Asked Questions – Seed Spiral Separator

Which crops are best suited for the Spiral Separator?

This machine excels at cleaning any free-flowing product where the target is round. It is the industry standard for Clover, Mustard, Radish, Alfalfa, Canola, and Soybean.

How do I choose the right inclination angle for my plant?

The choice of inclination depends on the friction and rolling speed of your specific seed variety. Our technical team helps you select the optimal inclination to ensure your seeds gain enough centrifugal force.

Can the Spiral Separator be used for industrial materials?

Absolutely. It is frequently used in industrial applications to sort round shapes from flat shapes in metal shot, ceramic beads, glass beads, and metal abrasives.

Does ADDAMS provide after-sales support for these units?

Yes. We offer an exclusive after-sales service including spare parts supply, routine maintenance check-ups, and in-person training by our highly skilled technical staff.
