This step is essential for improving digestibility, product quality, and processing efficiency, especially for products destined for food, oil extraction, or seed treatment.
What is De-Hulling?
Hulls or husks are the tough, inedible outer coverings of certain seeds and grains (e.g., sunflower, millet, sesame, oats). Dehulling removes this layer to access the valuable inner seed.
How ADDAMS De-Hulling Works:
Feeding: The product is fed into a de-huller machine, equipped with a rotating drum and or plates.
Hull Removal: The hull is cracked and or rubbed off through abrasion, impact, or centrifugal force.

- Separation:
- A winnowing or aspiration system separates the lighter hulls from the heavier kernels.
- The de-hulled seeds can then proceed to Air Separation, polishing, grading, Color Sorting, or packing.
